One job per Bot, and Share a Bot

Give each Bot one clear job. When someone else should start from that same setup, share a public link. Adding the link creates a copy on their account. It does not hand over your computer, logins, or chat history.

One job per Bot

Create a separate Bot when the work has a distinct goal, tool set, working style, approval boundary, or recurring schedule. Names like Talent Scout or Expense Manager work better than General Helper.

Put durable rules in the description. Put task-specific instructions in the conversation.

Example description: Own the weekly account-health review. Never contact a customer without approval.

An account can have up to 50 Bots and group chats combined.

Create and edit

  1. 1. Choose New in the sidebar (or Cmd/Ctrl+N).
  2. 2. In New chat, select Create new agent.
  3. 3. Open Bot actions → Edit Profile to set name, title, description, and avatar.
  4. 4. Start with a concrete task.

Pin active Bots. Hide from sidebar removes a Bot from the main list without deleting it. Hiding does not pause routines.

Duplicate vs share

Duplicate makes a copy on your own account for a new scope (for example one Account Health Bot per region). The copy gets profile, settings, enabled skills, routines, and avatar. It does not copy conversation history, learned memory, or chat attachments.

Share a Bot creates a public link for someone else:

  1. 1. Open the Bot and copy its share link.
  2. 2. The recipient opens a preview on x.ai and chooses Add to Grok Bot.
  3. 3. They need the Grok Bot app to finish adding it.

The link is public. Anyone with it can see the shared configuration: identity, description, skills, and routines.

Scrub before you share

Remove API keys, internal URLs, customer data, and anything else you would not put in a public document before you share. Shared Bots are created by other users, not by SpaceXAI. Adding one accepts the third-party bot terms.

Delete

Deleting a Bot removes its profile, conversation, and routines. Shared computer files and sign-ins are not isolated by Bot and may remain on the computer. Hide instead if you may need the work later.
